University of San Diego - Panhellenic Recruitment

5998 Alcala Park | San Diego, CA 92110 | | fsl@sandiego.edu | sandiego.edu/fsl

Welcome to the University of San Diego's Panhellenic Primary Recruitment 2023! We are so excited that you are considering membership in a sorority to add on to your experience at USD.

There are currently seven sororities within the Panhellenic Council, including Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Pi Beta Phi. All seven Panhellenic chapters participate in primary recruitment in January, and some chapters may also participate in informal recruitment (also known as "COB") in the Spring or Fall semester. USD is also home to two culturally based sororities, Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority, Inc. and Sigma Theta Psi Multicultural Sorority, Inc., which are members of the Lettered Multicultural Council (LMC), as well as some city-wide chapters of historically Black Greek Letter Organizations (also known as NPHC or the Divine Nine). We encourage you to visit the USD Fraternity & Sorority Life website for more information about all of our sorority chapters, community values, and recruitment and intake processes.

Panhellenic Primary Recruitment dates for 2023 (in-person):
  • January 20 - afternoon - orientation session
  • January 21 - full day one of primary recruitment
  • January 22 - full day two of primary recruitment
  • January 23 - full day three of primary recruitment
  • January 24 - morning - invitations to membership

Registration closes on January 3, 2023. There is a one-time, flat rate fee of $20 to participate in Panhellenic primary recruitment, which is not due at the time of registration but will be charged to student accounts in the Spring semester. We encourage early registration, as opportunities to meet recruitment counselors and other participants will be offered throughout December and January. Additional information about recruitment logistics and preparations will be shared in the weeks leading up to primary recruitment.
